"Willie, Thank you so much!
Your cookbook is wonderful!
I

"Thank you Willie
for the wonderful cookbook, you have done a fabulous job
on it and thank you for signing it.
I have been in New York for a while now
at the culinary institute in Hyde Park. So I haven't been active on your
recipe exchange.
I am looking forward to using some of these recipes at the restaurant
also...
Warmest regards,

Here's
what a few folks had to say about the recipes:

"Hi Willie;
Just wanted to write and let you know we are enjoying the cookbook
very much. We tried the macaroni and cheese last night and boy was it
good. So far my wife's favorite has been the fried green tomatoes.
I can't wait to try the baby back ribs...grin.
Thanks again for some great eating!

"Willie,
I was really suprised
to see you published your pork barbecue recipe right in
your cookbook. So many people won't share their
with anybody. I cooked half a pig overnight,
following your instructions exactly. It turned out
perfect! I can see myself making a little extra
money selling bbq meals from my house.
Thanks again
man.

"Willie,
I
fixed your pulled pork barbecue yesterday!
It
tastes just like the stuff I remember when
I
traveled through Virginia and North Carolina
years
ago.
Thanks for bringing back
great memories :0)

"Hi
Willie,
Just
letting you know that I received your cookbook
in the mail today.
WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!!! I will
definitely be
passing the word out about it, as I've
already have been
doing. A close friend of mine, in
Delray Beach, FL
has also ordered a cookbook from you.
Can't wait to jump
into the recipes!
Take
care,

"Willie,
Got your cookbook in the mail yesterday and cooked
your coconut pie
and barbecued baby back ribs for
some friends we had
over today. Needless to say, there were NO
leftovers.
Thanks
for such great recipes.

"Willie,
Your recipes have been a big
help. This year I am looking forward to opening a
soul food restaurant here in Shreveport, LA. For
some time I have done a lot of research on what would
sell and what wouldn't. So.... I would try your
recipes when we would sell plate lunches.
Not once have
any of my customers not returned for more. Repeat
customers have proven that your recipes are one of a
kind.
Thanks,
Deondre"
"Willie,
I
tried your deep fried turkey recipe and my family
really loved
it. The turkey turned out perfect. So,
I decided to take
one in to try on my office staff.
The local Winn
Dixie was running a special on turkeys
at 29 cents
per pound and I already had the peanut
oil, so I
figured, what did I have to loose. I also
baked a loaf of
bread to go with the turkey.
I
sent out an email to everyone in my department
announcing there
was deep fried turkey and fresh
baked bread in the
break room. THE TURKEY AND
BREAD WAS
COMPLETELY GONE IN LESS THAN 20 MINUTES! I had
expected to end up taking some
leftovers back
home.
During
the course of the day I had countless people
ask me for my
recipe. Several people also offerd to
pay me to deep fry
a turkey for them. I sent several
to your website to
get your cook book. I also agreed
to do several
turkeys and will make a nice little
profit at my
newfound cooking skills.
Thanks
Willie,

"Willie,
I
tried your greens (collards) last night and
they're exquisite!

"I am so very happy with
my new book I received. I was never able to cook chicken
the correct way, until you explained it in the cook book
that you had to have your grease hot to seal the flour
and flavor into the meat. Mine always came out without
any crust before I learned your secret. Thanks!, now I
can cook chicken with the best of cooks. Mrs.
Reagan"
"Mr.
Crawford,
I
fixed your pinto beans and hamhocks for my family
last night.
My family loved them. The kids even
had some of the
leftovers for breakfast. Keep
up the great work.

"Willie,
Your
baby back ribs were the hit of our family
reunion. YOU

"Willie,
I have recently
visited with my Grandmother
who is 88 yrs. old,
and we plan to use many of the recipes from this site for
Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Thank you so much
Glenda Washington
PS
We are 5 generations so my mother, grandmother, my
daughters, and my granddaughter, will really be cooking
good old down home Soul Food during the Holidays."
"Willie,
Love your recipes.
They are so NOT Betty Crocker
if you know what I mean. They are down
to earth
and full of the rich homemade flavor I
grew up
on. You just can't get that from
instants.
Thanks,
Shameka

"Willie,
I've put on 20 pounds since
discovering your site.
I don't guess it's your fault, I just
love to eat.
LOL... Thanks for all of the great
recipes and a
cookbook I am constantly referring to.

"Mr. Crawford,
After joining the Air
Force and traveling the world
I found myself missing good ole South
Carolina
country cooking. I found your site on
a search
engine and rediscovered my roots. I
share many
of your creations with Korean friends
and fellow
GI's. Thanks for a taste of home.

"Hi Willie,
I just ordered 4 more cookbooks. After
taking your
fried turkey to work so many friends
asked me for
the recipe that I realized your
cookbook makes the
perfect present for birthdays, etc.
Your fried
chicken gizzards are a favorite when
friends drop
by for the weekly poker game and beer
we have at our
house. I think they look forward to
the gizzards more
than the cards now. My personal
favorite is the
cheese grits though. Simple, quick,
and nutricious.
God Bless You,
Myra Wooten"
"Dear Willie,
I don't know what it is about your
recipes but my
kids LOVE them. Now they ask for
collard greens and
ham hocks or babyback ribs instead of
Burger King.
That's a big change. Now I can
actually get them to
eat some foods I feel good about.
I shared your recipes
with all of my sisters.

"Hello
Willie
This is
Yolanda Galloway and I just wanted to let you
know that I tried your
meatloaf recipe on Sunday and
man, I tell you it was the
best meatloaf I cooked in a
long while.
And guess what, I even ate a
meatloaf sandwich :)
Thanks
Willie,
This was the best investment
I have made.
Your Friend

"Willie,
Shirley and I
fixed your coconut pie for dinner. It was
DELICIOUS. This will become a regular around our
house. So much for the diet!
Bob,
Sharlimar, Florida"
"Hello
again,
I 'borrowed'
your recipe for Sweet Potato Pie and made it for
Christmas dinner for our family. It was a big hit,
and we will make it a regular around here.
Thanks for sharing,
Cyndie
Townsend"
"Dear
Willie:
I just
received your cookbook. It arrived at my
office AS I WAS TALKING to a
friend about cooking!
I opened the package
immediately; and the result was
that my friend will be
ordering a couple of these
for her son and herself.
For
me............. my comment to you is
"FABULOUS"!
Reading through the book is
very much like revisiting
my grandmother's
kitchen! She has been gone now for 44 years; but she's alive
again....... TODAY
............ thanks to your
cookbook.
Thank
you! Thank you, again!
Sincerely,
Viv Norton"
"Hi, Willie....rec'd your
wonderful cookbook and am enjoying it and am having a difficult
time keeping it in my kitchen. (My daughter keeps taking it to her
house)
Thanks, Pat in the Land of Enchantment"

"Hi,
Willie:
It's here and
what a beautiful book!! I am so excited
and I thank you sooo much
(this is MY Christmas gift to me, smile).
Much love, happiness and success to you and your family.

"Hi Brother
Crawford,
Just wanted to let you know that
you're partly
responsible for me getting engaged.
I've been
trying a lot of your recipes on my
paster over
the last six months and he must really
like
them. One evening over dinner, he
popped the
questions.
Bless you and yours!
Sister Brenda Love

"Willie,
I love, LOVE, love your cookbook! The recipes I
have tried remind me of my Granny's cooking.
I never learned any of her recipes =( but having your
cookbook brings back so many
warm yummy memories!
Thanks---Corinna"
"Willie,
Your
oven barbecued baby-back ribs were the hit of our 4th of July cookout. The baked beans
were a BIG hit too.
Keep up the work bro.

"Will,
Your banana pudding is
dangerous. I fixed one and ended up eating most of
it. I like the simplicity of your
recipe. I'll DEFINITELY be fixing this for my
family a lot!" I'm not sure who liked it more,
me, my husband, or the kids.
Thanks Will.

"Willie,
Just received your cook book and I am thrilled! I didn't
grow up in the South, I grew up in Northern Ohio, but
this cook book is the only cook book I think I'll ever
need from now on. I have spent the morning leafing
through it and so many of the recipes are the same home
cooking that I remember my Mom making. She's gone now,
and her recipes with her, but I almost feel like some
little part of her directed me to you and your website.
Wishing you great success and thank you so much for
sharing. You're doing a wonderful service to those of us
who want to give our children and grandchildren the same
warm happy feelings that our own Mothers and Grandmothers
gave to US!
Sincerely,
Joyce Couts
